Malaysian cuisine reflects its multi-racial background, with many dishes being influenced by Chinese, Indian, and Thai cultures to produce an entirely new and rich taste of its own.

Many Malay dishes revolve around a Rempah, which is a spice paste or mix similar to an Indian Masala. Rempahs are made by grinding up fresh and/or dried spices and herbs to create a spice paste which is then sauteed in oil to bring out the aromas.

A huge variety of tropical fruits are commonly served as desserts in Malaysia including coconuts, mangos, pineapples, watermelons, jackfruits, papayas, rambutans, star fruits, bananas and mangosteens. The widespread use of fruits and leaves for flavouring, wrapping and adorning food enhances its presentation.

At panAsia, we have an exquisite selection of Malaysian cuisine to satisfy most palates and occasions. Click here to view a selection of dishes.
